VINTAGE 1850'S VAMPIRE SLAYER KIT

Vampire Slaying Kit  c.1850’s

Black Leather Box with 4 Decorative Metal Corners, Mixed Metal Crucifix, Brass Handle and Lock with Ebony Wood and Steel Crucifix attached to a Skeleton Key.

Box Contents:

• 1 Ebony Stake with Scribed Crosses on Four Sides

• 1 Metal Decorative Handled Dagger with Sharp Blade scribed with Cross, Skull & Crossbones  - most likely ebony

• 1 Ebony Handled Cap & Ball Pistol with Engraved Barrel – the cap would create a spark when used with the black powder

• 1 Round Silver Metal Container opening like Butterfly Wing Lid - one side housing Balls and the other Caps for the Pistol.

• 1 Black Powder Flash for Pistol

• 1 Ebony Box containing wadding for the Pistol

• 1 Metal Tin Box containing Sea Shell Rosary

• 1 Glass Bottle with a low relief Cross and the words “Holy Water”

• 1 Double Sided Glass Cylinder Bottle with Hallmarked Metal End Caps - perhaps containing traditional smelling salts used by women  of the period on one side and perfume on the other

• 1 Small Glass Bottle with Fancy Metal Cap - still lingering pungent fragrance – this may be a newer bottle as it has a different metal than the others 

• 1 Leather bound Bible with low relief Cross on Cover - 2nd page signed and dated 1865 and is in English, but the Bible itself may be anywhere from 1850-1865 

The skeleton key is a double-turn key.  The crucifix is ebony with steel rivets.  The cap and ball pistol would be to be ignited with the wadding and black powder.  Note that is NOT a silver bullet which is a question that often gets asked.  But, silver bullets are for werewolves and this is for a vampire.
