An extant example of Jean Prouvé’s 1957 pre-fabricated “STRUCTURE NOMADE” was permanently installed in 2015 along with a 100 year old olive tree planted in the main building’s entry courtyard. Prouvé intended the 1950’s structure to be a mobile museum, and MAXFIELD shares this thinking. Tommy Perse has always displayed a curatorial approach to retail, and his Prouvé Nomade

Across the road from MAXFIELD Los Angeles is Maxfield Gallery space, boasting a pinch of Prouvé with sliding aluminum wall panels and beamed ceilings. Special Designer events are held in this space as well as exhibitions from the MAXFIELD Private Collection of furniture. Featuring works from groundbreaking designers and artists, including, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé.
