Maxfield was established by Tommy Perse in 1969 and relocated to its current Melrose location in 1985. Building on the original vision of a concept store, Maxfield elevated the city to the forefront of fashion with international brands like Prada, Comme des Garçons, and Yohji Yamamoto.
With a boutique and gallery in West Hollywood on Melrose Avenue, and another store in Malibu, Maxfield offers a curated selection of womenswear, menswear, vintage books, collectible furniture, and various objets dâart sourced internationally. These unique items are presented in an eclectic mix of period vitrines, reflecting a sophisticated sensibility shaped by Perse. The gallery space has also hosted immersive pop-ups for emerging designers, including Fear of God and Off-White.
A remarkable ProuvĂ© âNomadeâ house was brought from France and constructed as an adjunct to the flagship store at 8825 Melrose. It has showcased stunning installations from fashion leaders such as Maison Margiela, AlaĂŻa, and Givenchy. Maxfield continues its legacy of highlighting an eclectic mix of heritage brands and emerging designers, both local and international, featuring names like Valentino, Gucci, Chanel, Saint Laurent, Rick Owens, Enfants Riches DĂ©primĂ©s, Paula del Canovas, and Ottolinger.
