CINQUANTE ANS DE MODERNITÉ

Sale price$100 FINAL SALE

Galerie Anne-Sophie Duval: Cinquante Ans de Modernité by Julie Blum. Edited by Gourcuff Gradenigo. The gallery of Anne-Sophie Duval celebrates their 50th anniversary with an exhibition exploring the work of some of the greatest decorators: Jean Michel Frank, André Groult, Eileen Gray, Armand-Albert Rateau, Pierre Chareau, and Jean Dunand. Featuring objects that have been on display since the gallery opening in 1972. Amongst furniture by renowned designers and décor inspired by that of Karl Lagerfeld, four exceptional panels by Armand-Albert Rateau presented for the first time. A nod to Rateau’s famous 1992 exhibition, this never-before-seen set repoduces the Duchess of Alba’s bathroom exhibited in 1925 at the Seligmann Gallery. As a counterpoint, works by Étienne Cournault and Mithé Espelt, whom Julie Blum brought to light since her arrival at the gallery in 2008, are shown.
