Moncler Genius is an explorative fusion of technically perfected down jackets with an innovative group of eight distinct creative forces. After purchasing Moncler in 2003, CEO Remo Ruffini initiated the process of reinventing the brand to reach and appeal to everyone while maintaining its legacy of premium outerwear. Celebrating individuality and making connections between art and nature, Moncler Genius was unveiled at Milan Fashion Week in February 2018 as an evolving series of collaborative collections. Craig Green, Simone Rocha and Hiroshi Fujiwara have been involved with the project since its inception, while others like JW Anderson and 1017 Alyx 9SM are newer design partners. Featuring six guest designers and two in-house labels, each drop caters to a distinct client base, carrying out Ruffini’s vision of a multi-faceted and inclusive group of innovators. Down-filled jackets with an elevated fill power and high-performance nylon serve as the functional core while the artists paint their individual pictures of vivid colors and blown-out proportions, resulting in a fashion powerhouse that is daring and interconnected.
